Behind the scenes: The DZA team at the centre

Drei Männer unterhalten sich in einem Büro

Saxony's Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer and Görlitz's Lord Mayor Octavian Ursu were guests at Postplatz this week. They wanted to talk to some of the people who are organising the structure of the DZA.

Every day, more than 90 people think a little further about the idea behind the DZA. They implement some of the original concept, which creates the scientific future for the year 2038. Three examples: Our administration is becoming more capable of action every day, at the Centre for Technology Development there was the first "First Light" for the DZA, the astrophysicists have set a highlight for Görlitz with the large SKAO conference, jointly built telescopes and our data scientists have made high-performance computers even more powerful together with the TUD Dresden University of Technology.

From the event manager, the technology researcher, the secretarial employee, the development engineer to the geophysicist or data scientist - the Lord Mayor and the Saxon Prime Minister took short, but all the more interested and intensive time for small insights into the work of our crew. Centre of the questions: What drives you? What is working well? What experiences did the SKAO conference bring with it? What are your fields of research? That's what it was about. The answers to this were partly connected with very personal stories. Some of them we will be told soon. Of course, there was also a meeting with our overall project manager Katharina Henjes-Kunst and the designated founding director Günther Hasinger.
