The German Centre for Astrophysics (DZA) has presented itself at the 19th Day of the German Aerospace Regions. This year's motto was "Future begins above" and took place in Dresden. The event focussed on the federal states of Saxony and Thuringia – two important drivers of the German aerospace industry.
“The day has shown how important the open exchange between science, business and politics is. We are pleased about the great interest in our concepts for data infrastructures and technology development," says Barbara Leszczyńska of the Centre for Innovation and Transfer at the DZA.

It became clear that transfer is not a one-sided process, but a networked ecosystem. The DZA presented how basic research sets impetus for the development of new data and technology infrastructures. The concepts for data infrastructures for astrophysics, the development of new technologies, and the construction of a low seismic lab in the Lusatia region were of great interest among the specialised audience.
Astrophysics not only provides answers to fundamental questions of the universe, but also creates technologies that facilitate life on Earth. In this way, the DZA would like to actively shape the structural change in Lusatia through excellent research and sustainable innovations.
The DZA would like to thank the organisers, partners and all interlocutors for the inspiring exchange and the valuable impulses. The day has shown that the future is created in dialogue – and in joint transfer.
