Scientists from all over the world gathered in the heart of Europe from 16th - 20th June. This year's SKAO conference took place in Görlitz/Lusatia.

The SKAO is the Square Kilometre Array Observatory and is currently being built in South Africa and Australia. More than 500 scientists exchanged ideas for the discussion of the scientific plans with this world's largest telescope network. Delegations from 14 countries were in Görlitz for this purpose. We at the DZA were happy to pioneer this biggest SKA conference to date and like to remain a designer within the international team. Top research only works together, with tolerance and a good discussion culture. All this was organised last week in Görlitz. The collage of photos of the individual countries speaks volumes!

Philippa Hartley is not only a SKAO researcher, but also chaired science in the organisation of this conference in the European city of Görlitz/Zgorzelec. She says: "It was incredible to be here this week and work together on new plans for the SKA Observatory. It was a positive excitement to think about new scientific ideas and to agree on cooperations. We are pleased to have brought together so many young scientists here in Görlitz with experienced researchers. It was also wonderful to see the people here on the spot so enthusiastic."

We say thank you for a wonderful week full of science, inspiration and enthusiasm.
