Doors open in Görlitz for "Probewohnen meets DZA". Three Görlitz apartments will be open from May for new employees of the currently emerging DZA.

The influx of skilled workers from Germany and abroad is indispensable for our development. Because: cutting-edge research needs impulses from outside. The city of Görlitz is also looking forward to new residents.

Up to twelve new employees of the DZA and their families are to be given the opportunity during the trial living. We want to make it possible for them to get to know Görlitz and thus their new living environment for three months. All participants will also be part of an accompanying scientific study. The goal: to get to know and understand needs and requirements better. As part of our pilot project, we would like to learn from our colleagues what is necessary to facilitate the influx of skilled workers. This allows us to recognise potentials and bring them into sustainable urban and regional development," says DZA's Sebastian Heer. He leads the cooperation project together with Robert Knippschild from the Interdisciplinary Centre for Transformative Urban Redesign (IZS). "We will build on the findings so far of the project series Probewohnen and now take a closer look at the ideas, especially highly qualified people who still need to get to know Görlitz," adds Constanze Zöllter from the IZS.

The joint further development of "trial living" is embedded in the transformation research at the DZA and one of the department's recently launched pilot projects. The idea of trial living has been further developed and coordinated by the IZS since 2015.
